So another year has come and just about gone. It has been an interesting year. Some added responsibilities at work and another child at home. I wish you and yours a very Happy New Year.

Not a shipping professional, but....
I by no mean have ever worked at or ran a shipping company but I've been confused by one. I recently ordered something on line. The site sent the package with DHL. Here is the tracking information so far:

So far it has started in Michigan then went to Ohio. It somehow spent about two hours in Milwaukee then reapeared in Ohio. It then got sent back to Michigan two days ago. Since then no update. Couldn't they just sent it with the USPS? I'm begining to think I should have drove and picked it up myself. Oh well!

This just in: CSI Miami jumps shark!
I have become increasingly frustrated with CSI Miami this season. I wondered if the writers were even trying before the strike. Horatio breaks more rules and regulations to get the job done it is unbelievable. He is quite possibly the most corrupt "good" cop on television. This weeks episode was the official end of the shows loose connection with reality. Its one thing for the group to get arrive on a scene, gather evidence, get DNA and autopsy results then solve the crime in one shift. This week however they were searching for a weapon called the vaporizer. This is a weapon that fires so many rounds it vaporizes a human. That would be bad enough, but the climax of the show has Horatio's Hummer have the rear half explode after being shot with the super weapon and he steps out casually. He doesn't even have a hair out of place. He then proceeds to walk up to the guy with the super gun with his 9mm and shoot him and two other men without anyone getting off a shot. What a load of poo.

Boo to all you at Wiipec!
Is is just me or is it ridiculous that people are still having trouble finding Wii systems? It has been out for over a year now and you still apparently have to camp out at the store and bribe the stock person to be able to actually get your hands on it. Are these things hand crafted by Amish craftsman? In my humble opinion Nintendo should be able to meet the demand after more than a year. I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist, but Nintendo has to be purposely dragging their feet to increase demand. Who can blame them. They haven't had a must have system since before the original Playstation was released. So I say release the hounds already and let stores have their Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis!

Jericho returns!!!!!!
It was just recently anounced that Jericho would return February 12, 2008 at 9:00 PM central. This was some exciting news for me and the many Jericho Rangers that fought to save the show. If you haven't seen the show here's the website www.cbs.com/primetime/jericho
You can watch full episodes for free online or purchase the DVD of the first season at your favorite store or website. Nuts to New Bern!

Is Kendall an upgrade or downgrade?
The Brewers finalized and announced a deal today bringing Jason Kendall to Milwaukee. They traded Johnny Estrada (AKA Mr. Rally killer). Estrada couldn't throw out the trash, but was good at times with a bat. Kendall can't throw any better than Estrada and is questionable at best with a bat the past three seasons. Could this be why he went from making around $12 million last year to $4.25 this year? I guess it doesn't matter much since Cordero and Linebrink flew the coop leaving us with Derrick Turnb(l)ow to save games.

A Year of Blogging
I started this blog about a year ago and admittedly posts were pretty sparse. In the past couple of months I've gotten better. I think its good to write down what's on my mind even if it's not exactly thought provoking to others. Any who, I've come to enjoy blogging and if anybody ever stumbles upon this blog I hope they get something out of it. If anything blogs don't have to be politcal e-soap boxes or complaint forums. I just want to point out things I've observed. Quoting the great philosopher Arsenio Hall they are, "things that make me go hummm."

Boston Trifecta
With Boston winning the World Series it sets up an interesting possibility for a Boston Trifecta. The Patriots are on fire and the Celtics have the stongest lineup in years. It is very possible that Boston area teams would own all three major professional sports titles at one time. I'm going on the record to predict this. Wicked cool.

Screens for Hollywood campaign
Why is it that there is never a screen on any window in a movie or TV show. Walk up and down any street in your town and try to find a house that is not falling in on itself and find a screenless window. It won't happen. I've noticed especially on TV that whenever there is an open window there is never a screen. It doesn't matter if it is a beach house in Malibu, an apartment in Queens or a farm house in Alabama, no screens. So to a screen writers please add screens to the windows.

Bummed for Colorado.
All good things have to come to an end. I'm by no means a Rockies fan, but it was good to see a small market team do so well. I had hope they could knock off the high priced Red Sox, but alas it was not in the cards. I now can go back to cheering against the Rockies as Tule...? and Holliday compete with Fielder and Braun for MVP and Rookie of the Year. Go Brew Crew.

Mowing in October
I had to mow my lawn this weekend. We're 3/4 of the way through October and the grass is still growing. When I lived in Kentucky it was to be expected, but in Wisconsin. It is nice to have the break between mowing and snow shoveling. Hopefully November will bring that time. However, mowing my lawn means I don't have to rake leaves. They just get mulched up and become fertilzer for the lawn. Anyway al least this post lives up to the name of the blog.

Inaccurate Truth: the Musical
With Al Gore winning the Nobel Peace Prize last week it makes me wonder what is next for the Gore family trophy case? I say make it a clean sweep. Mr Gore needs to make his documentry into a broadway musical. Then the stage community can give him an award too. Mr. Gore can drive his SUV from is huge mansion to the the airport. He then can take a private plane to New York where he is picked up by a limo and driven to the awards show to receive his award for the global warming musical.

It's the construction that never ends it goes on and on my friend.
My wife and I have to drive through Chicago pretty much everytime we go to visit both sides of the family. I've been driving through Chicago for the better part of ten years and in that time I think 294 has been under construction the entire time. Should a project really take that long? It's to the point now that I'm begining to wonder if I'll ever no a time when I can drive the entire way through Chicago and not see orange barrels and cones.

Getting ready for the game

3 wins from the playoffs
The Brewers' season ended yesterday with the Brewers two games behind the Cubs. If the Brewers had just won three more games they would have been set for the playoffs. It's been a fun and frustrating season, but I'll be back next year cheering for the Crew to take the next step and win the division. Go Crew!

Shock from a sun bather.
My wife, daughter and I went on our annual trip to pick apples with a couple and their daughter. We've been doing this with them for four years now. Our son was sick so he stayed with "Pa Pa."Usually we go home after picking a bag of apples but this time we decided to go to a park afterwards to let the girls play and then have a picnic lunch. The girls had a blast playing and then with some protest from the kids to keep playing we went to get the food out of the van and have lunch. We at first decided to sit on blankets under a nearby tree. As we got to the tree we looked to the right to see a some what larger man laying face down sunbathing in his speedo. Needless to say we turned around and found a table. We wanted to see some natural scenary but that was just too much.

What's up the the Bengals?
I've been a Bengals fan for a long time. Even through the decade of disappointment (1990's). How in the word do they score 45 points, Palmer throws 6 touchdowns and still lose to the Browns? It's bad enough to lose to the mutts, but letting them score 51 points behind a back up quarterback is too much to handle. I'm afraid to see what happens the next two games against Seattle and New England.

It's official I'm a Brewers fan
I grew up (7th grade through College) south of Cincinnati in a small Kentucky town (Cynthiana) and have been a Reds fan for the better part of 16 years. I moved to Wisconsin in 2001 and took advantage of living so close to Milwaukee that I have gone to a number Brewers games. I would cheer for the Brewers as long as they weren't playing the Reds. I would go to Reds/Brewers games in my Reds apparel. I don't know when it began but I've slowly become a Brewers fan. It became official this season. My wife and I bought a small ticket package and have enjoyed the season. The defining moment came last month when the Brewers and Reds were playing and I couldn't bring myself to wear Red's stuff to the game. Then this weekend watching the series in Cincinnati on TV I wanted the Brewers to win. My apologies to the Reds organization, but I moved on. It's not you it's me.

Transformers
I went with my brother this past weekend to watch the new Transformers movie. When I was a kid went to see the animated movie. I remember being suprised that it had a curse word in it but loved the movie and was saddened when Optimus died. I looked forward to the live action version and I have to admit I was pleasently suprised. I was a little ticked that Bumble Bee wasn't a Beetle. Shame on Volkeswagon for not giving the rights for it. Other than that I thought the movie as entertaining and fun to watch. It wasn't completely faithful to the cartoon that from my childhood, but compared to the dung fest that was the live action version of He-Man (in the 80's I believe) it was great. I also liked that it left it open for sequals.

Welcome back to Jericho!
I don't know how to say or express my excitement as I sat down to watch the reairing of the pilot of Jericho last night. It signaled the return of the best show on TV. If anyone happens to read this and hasn't watched Jericho check out the encore episodes Friday's this summer and new episodes this fall (midseason).

A new appreciation for the 4th
As a child I looked forward to the 4th of July and the three "f's"
- Food
- Family
- Fireworks
As I grew up I gained a better understanding of the meaning of the Fourth as a citizen and as a bicentinial baby (my mom still saves the bicentinial quarters for me). Now that I'm a father I get to see the excitement and awe of my kids at the fireworks, the other kids running around, the parades and all the other festivities. I have the responsibility to also teach them why we celebrate the 4th and to honor those you make it possible for the celebration to continue. Happy Birthday to the United States of America.

Jericho returns July 6th
We were successful in getting Jericho back for another season. CBS has promised 7 episodes for the fall. They will begin showing reruns this summer begining Friday July 6th at 9/8 central. If you loved this show tune in for another visit to Jericho. If you haven't seen the show before check it out, but I warn you it is addictive. Besides there is nothing else to watch on Friday nights so sit down with some friends and bowl of nuts and enjoy the show.

Save Jericho, Save TV!
I don't know if anyone will ever read this except me , but here goes. I was disheartened to say the least when I heard that Jericho had been cancelled. It was show that both my wife and I enjoyed watching. That in and of itself is not uncommon. However, my father and grandparents loved the show also. It is not often that three generations of a family find shows that all enjoy. In fact my wife and I were visiting my grandparents the week of Jericho's season finale and watched it together with my sister and brother-in-law. This is the first time I've really cared about the fate of a TV show and I will cotinue to e-mail, and send nuts when I'm able to until we have Jericho back.
Nuts to you CBS!
